A well-organized industry

An industry organized around equal representation

The dairy industry is made up of milk producers and private or cooperative enterprises that transform milk into a wide variety of dairy products using specific manufacturing techniques.

To best manage the interests of all stakeholders, the dairy industry has progressively created an organized structure.

Today, it includes many different bodies, both generalist (umbrella organizations or federations representing specific segments) and specialist (unions of product manufacturers).

Milk producers and processors brought together under the same roof

CNIEL’s headquarters, Maison du Lait, was built from the common resolve of different federations of milk producers and processors.

Its initial objective was to bring together in one place the different organizations representing the French dairy industry, providing them with the necessary resources to promote synergies for the benefit of all stakeholders.

Today, Maison du Lait houses more than 15 organizations.
